Is E469 Halal?
E469 is enzymatically hydrolysed carboxymethyl cellulose (hydrolysed CMC), a plant-derived cellulose gum modified by enzymes. It is HALAL because it is plant-based and does not contain any HARAM ingredients. (Note: E469 is NOT sodium caseinate; that is a milk-protein additive with a different identity.)
